for Toula
Our hands weave our bodies
With the void
Into cloaks of night rhythms
We sway
In each other’s breathing
Fathoming their silence
(from “Ashpoems”)
1
Between my words
The silence of hands
Splitting our bodies
In their sweating
Lovers of tomorrow are drowning
Salty drops of longing
The world is now far away
A poem
Of us echoing
Each other into the void
2
My poem
Crown of tired words
Flickering
Around your forehead
My lips hang their letters
On your aethereal body
Sounds empty of memory
They recite us into a rhythm
3
Your big eyes
Words
Rolling down
Into my lips
I decipher them letter by letter
Becoming the lusting of sounds
You make me
The alphabet of stretching worlds
Curious to listen
4
In the moisture of our lips
Words are weaved
With wet silences
Converging
Into the patience of poems
Drowned in centuries of longing
Trembling from my mouth to yours
They float in our breathing
5
In the poem we surge
Glimpses of bodies
Flickering each other into the void
Fluid memories of distant sounds we are
Yet to coalesce into the ‘always’ and the ‘never’
6
Covered with my skin
The words I bring to you
Crawl on our lips
They whisper each other’s mouth
Into wet promises
7
In the chambers of my mouth
With dripping silences and voids
Your tongue recites my tongue
Into poems
Never written
Still to be born
We are dispersed
Into melodies from the other side
8
Our bodies slide
On each other’s night
Forgetting the words
That could not measure
The pain of centuries
In their chambers of emptiness
Sounds crawl on our lips
Little surprises
9
You are the vastness
Of the empty fields
Slowly crawling
Between my words
Shapes of ancient ruins
Hiding in their letters
I become the prayer of orphan sounds
10
Pausing your lips with mine
We become lovers gone mad
In the shadow of words
My poem left behind
Then we discover
How not to say the world
Smiling goodbye
From a distance
11
Silencing your fingers into mine
You cancel the world in both of us
Love-skins trembling in the void
Are we the day after today?
12
The words in my poem
Foam of the abyss
Like the silence
Between your lips
When you recite them to me
The two collide
Rhythms of innocence
Lamenting
I listen to the birth of sounds
13
Dripping
From each other’s silence
Our bodies
Are the distant in this world
Drops of what never became
Crawling on their innocence
Our lips whisper themselves
Into words
14
A poem we are
Rhythm words
Of cemeteries and visions
Stretching
In the before and after
Inhaling their night in your mouth
I become a galaxy of sounds
15
To find me
In my words
You recite the no-word-poem
Naked body I spring
Of thirsty mouths singing
16
We gather our fingers into galaxies
Silencing our bodies
Like stars the night
Lost in the maze of their paths
Our skins become strangers
Deciphering each other
Into whispers
17
Sweating with longing
My lips roll words on your body
Never reaching the world
They turn and turn
Little pools of void
18
One by one
I retract my words from the poem
By reciting you backwards
You
Elegy of full stops
Dancer of the void between
Deaf disperser of alphabets
They float on my lips
Neither in nor out
19
Within my words
Letters wave to me
Shapes of their silent sounds
I Float
Above the terrible page
Open mouth it is
Full of monsters and secrets
Poems shattered
In the prayers of tomorrow
20
I long
To caress your words
With the poem
Hanging on my lips
Centuries of secrets they are
Lullabies of your eyes
Whispering to me eternity
21
As you recite my words
Whisperings of dead visions gather
Carrying centuries with them
A! The poem is a silent chamber
Echoing their longing
22
You hang your vowels
On the consonants of my words
I hang my words
On the silence of the poem
Then you splash it
On our bodies
Sounds of eternity
Swimming in the void
23
In you
A mouth listening
My consonants become the melody
Of a trembling poem
That is how I travel
Naked
To your other side
Is it a world?
24
Word by word
You inhale my breathing
Knots of surprises
Composed by your sweating
I become the poem never to be written
Voiding the universe
25
I compose poems
With worlds
Preparing
For our next encounter
They will recite us
Strangers
Voiding each other
26
I enter each poem
With the previous one
Carrying you into you
We become mouths
Echoing the universe
27
In our lips
Words sink whispering
To lovers of tomorrow
The silence in our mouths
Flooded
By swarms of innocent desires
Buzzing
28
A galaxy of worlds the poem
Lost for ever in our words
These knots of centuries
Impatiently
Our tongues decipher
The shapes of their shadows
(The defeat of poetry)
