Rochford Street Revew Rochford Street Review is an on-line journal reviewing new Australian and international writing and culture – with an emphasis on poetry, prose/fiction, small press publications, independant visual arts, film and drama/performance.(http://rochfordstreetreview.com/).
Rochford Street Review is looking for help! Actually we are looking for a host of different people to help the Review continue and expand. Up to now Rochford Street Review has basically been a one person show – but it is getting to point now where I have to look at bringing people in the help with the day to day running of the journal or to review it’s future.

I believe the Review has a bright future. In Issue 13 we have introduced the concept of a feature artist with Shelia E Murphy providing both the cover image for the issue along with a series of artwork through out the issue – the final piece will appear later this week. From issue 14 I want to expand this to include an ongoing dialogue with the artist over the three months of each issue. This may take the form of a series of interviews, artists statements and articles, together with a selection of work by the artist. I also want to mirror this with a feature writer who will provide a series of pieces throughout the issue accompanied by a similar level of critical engagement.

Philip Hammial (Ticket to Ride)
Since publishing his first collection Footfalls and Notes in 1976, Philip Hammial has published some twenty-seven collections of poetry. His New & Collected Poems will be out from Puncher & Wattman in April this year. Originally from Detroit, Michigan (USA), Philip migrated to Australia in 1972. He has represented Australia at eight major international poetry festivals, and has been the editor of Island Press since 1979.
“Hammial has developed a formidable range of techniques for generating a complex variety of poetic forms.” (John Hawke)

Christine Townend (Walking with Elephants)
Christine Townend has had poetry published in literary journals including Meanjin, Southerly, Quadrant, Twentieth Century, and the literary supplements of newspapers and magazines. Her poetry is profoundly connected to her own love and understanding of animals and the natural world. Many of her poems were written when she was living in India and managing an animal shelter in Jaipur. Christine Townend has had two novels and five non-fiction works published, two of these having been published in India, and two translated into French. Her book Pulling the Wool resulted in a Senate Select Inquiry into Animal Welfare. “…sounds and images which make me jealous.” (David Brooks)

Jeltje Fanoy (Princes by night)
Jeltje Fanoy (jeltje) has been writing, performing and editing poetry since the 1970s. Her publications include the collections Living in Aboriginal Australia and Poetry Live in the House, the poetry and music collaborations So Be It and Dreaming in English, and the compilations CDs Poetry for Peace and Heart to Heart (Reconciliation Poetry at La Mama Poetica). She has translated, from Dutch into English, two longer works by Netherlands poet Arjen Duinker, including De Zon en de Wereld (The Sun and the World). jeltje was a convenor of poetry performances at La Mama Poetica from 2004 until 2010.

Τὰ κείμενα ποὺ φτάνουν στὴν Διεύθυνση τοῦ περιοδικοῦ, πρέπει νὰ εἶναι σὲ ψηφιακὴ μορφὴ καὶ νὰ εἶναι γραμμένα στὸ μονοτονικὸ σύστημα. Ὁ πολυτονισμὸς γίνεται ἀπὸ τοὺς συνεργάτες τοῦ περιοδικοῦ. (Οἱ συνεργασίες πρέπει νὰ ἀποστέλλονται καὶ σὲ χειρόγραφα ἢ σὲ φωτοτυπίες). 
Τὰ χειρόγραφα καὶ οἱ φωτοτυπίες δὲν ἐπιστρέφονται. 
Τὰ κείμενα δημοσιεύονται στὸ πολυτονικὸ σύστημα.

Στὴν περίπτωση ποὺ ὁ δημιουργὸς ἔχει υἱοθετήσει τὸ μονοτονικὸ σύστημα, ἡ συνεργασία δημοσιεύεται στὸ πολυτονικὸ μὲ τὴν ὑποσημείωση ὅτι ὁ συγγραφέας ἔχει υἱοθετήσει τὸ μονοτονικὸ σύστημα καὶ γράφει σ’ αὐτό. 


Οἱ δημιουργοὶ πρέπει νὰ ἀποστέλλουν στὴν Διεύθυνση τοῦ περιοδικοῦ, μαζὶ μὲ τὶς συνεργασίες τους καὶ ὑπεύθυνη δήλωση μὲ τὴν ὁποία ἐκχωροῦν στὸ περιοδικὸ τὸ δικαίωμα τῆς δημοσίευσης τοῦ ἔργου τους καὶ ὅ,τι δὲν ἔχουν ἀπαίτηση ὁποιασδήποτε ἀμοιβῆς.

Το Straw Dogs magazine γιορτάζει και παρουσιάζεται

Το περιοδικό και οι εκδόσεις Straw Dogs γιορτάζουν την Παγκόσμια Ημέρα Ποίησης το Σάββατο 21 Μαρτίου και ώρα 19:00 στο καφενείο – αναγνωστήριο πρόζακ (Μέδωντος 3Α, Λευκωσία).

Συμμετέχουν οι παρακάτω ποιητές με απαγγελίες ποιημάτων τους:

The seasons roll around. Today, the first of March, Australia and New Zealand welcome our first day of Autumn whilst those of you in the Northern Hemisphere are anticipating Spring’s arrival. Wherever you are in the world, the 14th issue of A Hundred Gourds, a quarterly journal of haiku, haibun, haiga, tanka and renku poetry is now online for your reading pleasure.

AHG 4.2 Feature –The Seabeck Haiku Getaway: an interview with Michael Dylan Welch
Aubrie Cox, our haiga editor, was on the spot for the annual Seabeck Haiku Getaway, which is held in the beautiful, historical mill town of Seabeck in Washington, USA, close to the Canadian border. Aubrie has conducted an in- depth interview on the subject of this enviable retreat with the founder and organiser, Michael Dylan Welch.

Expositions Section
Due to the unexpected departure of Matthew Paul as Expositions editor last year, A Hundred Gourds will be looking for a suitable editor for our Expositions section in 2015. Please direct any inquiries regarding the Expositions section and submit reviews, essays or commentaries for 2015 issues of AHG to me, Lorin, until further notice. In this issue, Michael Dylan Welch explores the use of haiku in David Patneaude’s young-adult novel, Thin Wood Walls, Jim Sullivan comments on two ‘bee’ haiku and Cynthia Rowe and Ray Rasmussen review recently published haiku books.

Submissions Deadline
The deadline for all submissions to AHG 4.3 (the June 2015 issue) is March 15th. AHG has an open submissions policy: any submissions received after the deadline will be filed for consideration for the September 2015 issue. Please check our submissions page for details and editors’ guidelines.
