and then the noon fire comes

Iron collar
warm as your neck,

**Ο Φοίβος Δέλφης (1909 – 15 Φεβρουαρίου 1988 ) ήταν ποιητής, μέλος της Πανελλήνιας Ένωσης Λογοτεχνών (ΠΕΛ), του Δελφικού Οργανισμού και της Ένωσης Ελλήνων Λογοετχνών (ΕΕΛ). Γεννήθηκε στους Δελφούς και το πραγματικό του όνομα ήταν Γιώργος Κανέλλος. Σπούδασε Φιλολογία στο Πανεπιστήμιο Αθηνών. Είχε φιλικές σχέσεις με τον Σικελιανό,που επηρέασε και το έργο του. Πρωτοεμφανίστηκε στα ελληνικά γράμματα σε ηλικία 28 ετών με την ποιητική του συλλογή “Ειδύλλια”. Παρότι ζούσε στην Αθήνα από το 1929, δεν έπαψε ποτέ να διατηρεί στενές σχέσεις με την πατρίδα του. Σ’ αυτόν ανήκει η σύλληψη της ιδέας ενός πρώιμου ανοικτού Πανεπιστημίου, του «Δελφικού Περιπατητικού Πανεπιστημίου», που περιόδευε στα χωριά του Παρνασσού και η λειτουργία ενός ορειβατικού συλλόγου. Τη δεκαετία του ‘40 ήταν ένας από τους πρωτεργάτες των πολιτιστικών εκδηλώσεων που πραγματοποιούνταν στον αρχαιολογικό χώρο των Δελφών. Για το συνολικό του έργο βραβεύτηκε από την Ακαδημία Αθηνών με τον α΄ έπαινο. Έγραψε πολλά ποιήματα και ποιητικές συλλογές, όπως τα “Βουκολικά” (1938), “Όργος Οργής” (1948), “Η μοναξιά του λιθαριού” (1948), “Αχαοί” (1951), “Άνθρωπος της Γης” (1943), “Ρόδα του Απόλλωνα”, “Θλιμμένο Πάσχα”, “Ο γερο-Θωμάς”, “Αγροτική συμφωνία” , “Πεσταλότσι” και άλλα. Μερικά έργα του βραβεύτηκαν και στο εξωτερικό.
