Στην εκδρομή

Του γυμνασίου.
Άδεντρο, πέτρες

Ένα τοπίο
Φρίκης που λες
Κι έχει στοιχειώσει
Από τα πτώματα

Τα τυμπανιαία
Των Ασιατών
Της ναυμαχιας
Της Σαλαμίνας

We came upon
Unexpectedly
On our high-school

Excursion.
Barren, rocky
Identical feeling
Edge of the world.

A landscape
Of horror as if
Haunted
By the bloated corpses

Of the dead
Of the Asians
Of the battle
Of Salamis.

There’s the mountain

End of the earth.

A landscape
Of horror, and you know
It’s been haunted
By the corpses

The swelling up
Of the Asians
From the naval battle
Of Salamis.
